چکیده

Background The prognostic significance of the number of tumorinfiltrating T cells has been demonstrated for many tumor types. In contrast, the significance of the tumorinfiltrating T cell clonality, which reflects the preferential infiltration or expansion of T cell clones in the tumor microenvironment, has not been clear because of the technical hurdles required for evaluating each T cell clone in the tumor. In order to delineate the complexity of T cell responses and define correlates of a protective immunity, we applied a recently developed deep T cell receptor (TCR)-sequencing technology (immunoSEQ) to paired frozen tumor tissues and peripheral blood mononuclear cells from 99 ovarian cancer patients.

Diversity index of mucosal resident T lymphocyte repertoire predicts clinical prognosis in gastric cancer.

A characteristic immunopathology of human cancers is the induction of tumor antigen-specific T lymphocyte responses within solid tumor tissues. Current strategies for immune monitoring focus on the quantification of the density and differentiation status of tumor-infiltrating T lymphocytes; however, properties of the TCR repertoire ‒ including antigen specificity, clonality, as well as its prog...

Immunohistochemical evaluation of lymphocyte types infiltrate into the canine seminomas

BACKGROUNDS: Seminoma is frequently observed in human and canine testes especially in cryptorchids. Canine and human seminomas are typically associated with leukocytic infiltration. OBJECTIVES: We aimed to identify the type of lymphocytes that infiltrate to seminomas. METHODS: Tumor infiltrating lymphocytes were evaluated by immunohistological techniques in 5 dogs with diffuse seminoma. Routine...

Increased HLA-DMB expression in the tumor epithelium is associated with increased CTL infiltration and improved prognosis in advanced-stage serous ovarian cancer.

PURPOSE To evaluate the possible mechanisms influencing the infiltration of CD8 T lymphocytes into the tumor epithelium of advanced-stage serous ovarian cancers. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN Immunohistochemical localization of CD8 T lymphocytes was done on a homogeneous population of 184 high-grade, advanced-stage serous ovarian cancer tissue specimens. Microarray analysis was done on microdissected t...

Digital genomic quantification of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes.

Infiltrating T lymphocytes are frequently found in malignant tumors and are suggestive of a host cancer immune response. Multiple independent studies have documented that the presence and quantity of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are strongly correlated with increased survival. However, because of methodological factors, the exact effect of TILs on prognosis has remained enigmatic, and ...

Programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 and tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T lymphocytes are prognostic factors of human ovarian cancer.

The ligands for programmed cell death 1 (PD-1), an immunoinhibitory receptor belonging to CD28/cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen 4 family, are PD-1 ligand 1 and 2 (PD-Ls). Recent reports suggest that the aberrant expression of PD-Ls on tumor cells impairs antitumor immunity, resulting in the immune evasion of the tumor cells. Although an inverse correlation between the expression level of PD-Ls an...
